Hi. Yes, I know, I seem to fail on this political blogger thing. Everyone has a blog anymore and why fore should you care what it is I might have to say? In fact, some of the vacation was nice, to be honest with you. Then I allowed it to slip that I am proficient in what I do and BLAM, I’m actually sort of busy. Enough about me. Let’s dish up some of the fun stuff called “filing week” shall we?

I managed to check out the unofficial candidate filings for Kitsap County because honestly, I’m too lazy to actually leave my house. Admittedly, I started yawning right after Nathan Schlicher and Jan Angel. That is a race with “epic” written all over it. Don’t be jealous, rest of Washington state.

I wanted to say that I yawned through the rest of the candidates. I was jarred awake by the name Roy Runyon though. You’ll recall him as the Bremerton city council member who resigned because he was moving. Guess what, he’s back! I believe I’ll call this the “second election that I’m excited to watch”. The third one goes to this guy who told me years ago he “didn’t need help with his campaign because there wasn’t really any competition to speak of”. <del datetime="2013-05-17T19:32:41+00:00">this is but the second spot where I seriously had to edit for snide catty remarks. call it the kinder, gentler hannie if you want.</del> So in conclusion of filing week here in Kitsap, who’s excited for some “Eggs and Issues” this cycle? Raise that hand high. I know I am.

OH. DEAR. MOTHER OF PEARL. Do you know that Pierce County auditor has an app? You know I got excited about this. So I whipped a quick email to Walt Washington who is our auditor here in Kitsap County and asked him if perhaps we could have an app as well. I’ll let you know about that in the near future.

I’ve spent far too much time prattling away today. Here’s a sample of the good times and last but not least #teamNathan all the way!

P.S. Thanks to CK Reporter and Steven Gardner for answering my questions on filing week.

I’ve been absent for a bit. I know, it’s so not like me to be silent during a pivotal time, when decisions are being made in Olympia that are going to affect us for years to come.

To be honest with you, I’ve come to a point of burnout. I’m tired of the constant bickering and infighting. I might add that this isn’t between Dems and GOP either. It’s within my own party. This saddens me because I’ve always preached that united we stand, divided we fall. I feel like that very sentiment falls on deaf ears anymore.

I’m not sad about losing in last nights elections for Kitsap Democrat executive board. In fact, I’d like to take this moment to congratulate Carl Olsen and Susan Cruver for being elected to the Kitsap Democrat e-board. With my health failing and the schedule of back living in hospitals being a human pincushion, well, I hardly was the girl for the job.

Here’s what I really don’t like about the whole “events that transpired” last night. I don’t appreciate being verbally thrown on the train track with a train oncoming. I don’t appreciate the snide commentary in relation to me. In fact, nothing would give me greater pleasure than to sit around and have a ginormous ego like certain people and tout every last little contribution I have made to the democrat party.

I’ve learned something in the past few years. I’ve learned that I don’t need to run around flamboyantly talking up my accomplishments. I take on projects, I work on campaigns, I help in different areas because I believe in these things. I believe in those people whom I feel would make an outstanding difference in our world. I don’t do it for the accolades, I do it because it’s about moving forward and helping others.

Does this make me a “bad” democrat and more importantly, does this qualify me as absolutely bat shit crazy like some people proselytize to others on a consistent basis? it does not. What does that say exactly to those who choose to listen to said person as opposed to asking me directly for clarification and understanding?

It says that we’re not grown adults but more like immature brats who would rather hate than appreciate. It says that we’re no better than any other party who sits around the cauldron of doom wearing tinfoil hats. It saddens me because we collectively are so much better than this. We are.

So thank you so very much. Thank you for reminding me that each day is an uphill battle on the idea that I don’t need to put forth time and effort to haters. Thank you so
much for reminding me that I am a valuable person and my true friends see that. Most of all, thanks again for showing me that it’s not as much a social club as much as it is pitching in to make this world a better place.

Now that we’ve gotten all that out of the way, lets get back to some real news.

I had perhaps the best story ever. Until I pulled a ligament and am now reduced to bedrest and a heating pad as my new best friends. So here are my best examples of “make it stop”.

Have you heard the “Obama-phone” argument? I'm sure you have, but have you heard the FULL argument? You're right, “Bush-phone” doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

Okay who let THIS here happen? Go back and read my story here and know this is the guy who referenced Ronald Reagan. Who let this guy run for state senate? Wait, he's running against Tim Sheldon. hmm. *crickets*

Last but not least, let's bid Aaron Reardon a fond buh bye. Stop reminding me he was a democrat wonder boy at one time. In fact, look here. Gah.

wait, just when you thought it wasn't safe to pledge to anything Kirby Wilbur might have to say, look out here comes this story. You know what I'd love to say in response? Nope, not another moment wasted on my bandwidth for this man. Amen.

I'm always thinking of creative ways I'm going to tell you about the cool people I have the opportunity to see and meet. One of those people I absolutely love and hold near and dear to my heart is Sherry Appleton, representative from the 23rd district.

I've always held Sherry in the highest of regard for this one time I decided to auction off some chocolates for the KCDCC. Nervous I was. Here I am breaking the “order” of the regular meeting to try and do what I thought was nearly impossible to do, give back to an organization that had helped me grow and learn. Along with that, I had the opportunity to meet some seriously incredible people along the way. Like Sherry Appleton. But I digress.

Here's Sherry and me at the Washington State Democrats crab feed. I went this year. I volunteered. It was a great time involving shellfish and super cool democrat people of Washington.

And here we are at the KCDCC Jefferson-Jackson dinner. I know, I'm far too busy this month. Allow me finish my story by telling you that I succeeded in my moment of egotistical greatness and promotion of local business here in the 26th legislative district. It was topped off when Sherry took the time to search me out for some invaluable feedback on the whole performance.

In other totally unrelated news, I could use a super good nap. I could.
