even MORE hannie!

more hannie, more!

You know, sometimes it’s hard being me. No lie. Being me is only half the fun. Actually thinking and believing I could complete a move to Bremerton in the course of one month pretty much on my own was something else.

I’ve always prided myself on the ability to make a plan work somehow, someway. Being a former military spouse, you somehow made miracles happen out of thin air for the most part. So naturally, thinking I could move and maintain my blog and high celebrity profile that I have (I wrote that specifically for the one who met me at the courthouse and said, “Oh I KNOW WHO YOU ARE”.) I thought it would work.

It barely worked. But it *did* work, so who’s counting anyways? Have no fear, my family of South Kitsap, I’ll be still loving you, supporting you, and talking about you. However, we must hear about Bremerton as well.

Long ago, I lived in Bremerton. I’ve been here more or less for about a month. There are some parts about Bremerton that I’d give kudos for. The fact that downtown “appears” safer is nice. The expense went to in making it that way, I shudder to think. But I’d like to say, any appearance can be deceiving now, can’t it? About a year ago, I parked my car downtown underneath the hotel in their garage (harborside, I can’t remember the name of the hotel). Upon returning to my car, I stood and watched an individual jimmy the windows, the locks, played as if he was using his keys to attempt to open my car.

I couldn’t help myself. “Um, excuse me sir?” I asked as he dropped his keys. “That would be MY car you’re breaking into, and FEMA has been so kind as to zero dollar it out. You wanna keep at that or what?” Dude picked up his keys and ran like hell to the first elevator out of there.

Yes, I took this up with Kitsap Transit and BPD. But here’s the thing. Wow, great we have pedestrians, but how safe are they at any given time?

Oh yea, we were talking about moving. During my month of moving, I found the time to walk through the GH Maritime Parade with Derek Kilmer and Larry Seaquist. I think it was one of my proudest accomplishments, not because of the company I was in, but the sheer fact that I was able to walk in the first place.

I heard a story from a local business. Upon further checking this story (here’s an actual point where I will thank Mr Bermant for the “factcheck” moment) I found out the original version told me was incorrect. I wanted to make a citizen comment in person, but knew that the group impacted by this were busy. My comment is written and will be forwarded to the appropriate people. Oh heck, maybe we’ll just run my comment in my blog and you can see for yourselves I know how to use the English language now and again.

I haven’t had a chance to do any doorbelling for my favorite candidates. But I’ve been working hard for them where I could behind the scenes. Now that I have time again, it’s time to write about them, and write about why you need to REGISTER to vote and ACTUALLY VOTE. Your voice needs to be heard and counted.

Lots more fun yet outlandish yet incredible stories happened so far. I know, you’d love to hear them all, but let’s hear about some that make a difference to me and a difference to you. Let’s go and welcome home to Kitsap County!
