me, age five, West Seattle style
Hi, my name’s Johanna, and my nickname is hannie. It’s a nickname that I’ve had since birth, and the story is that my mother was really enamored with the book “Heidi” by Johanna Spyri. Of course, I’m a Johanna, so she shortened it to “hannie”, and she still calls me that to this day. No, I’m not Dutch, or from the Netherlands or anything like that, but thanks for asking. Many people do. My heritage is actually German, Swedish and Irish…and Mom is into the genealogy thing. This is rather cool, as I have a great interest in history, including my own. So I can tell you that my ancestors immigrated straight into Ellis Island, moved to Ohio, and then originally took up stake in Port Angeles, and yes, this is way before Washington became an actual state in 1889. You’ll find the majority of my family now in West Seattle, living, dead or otherwise.
So you find me fascinating and would just *love* to talk to me! Great, as I love talking to people, just not on the phone. I have an aversion to phones since my seven year stint working at QVC, yes, the shopping channel. My thought, I don’t like talking on the phone unless you’re paying me to do so. I’m an internet geek at heart, so here goes on how to find me.

I rock the Trillian Astra, and I may not always be around. So just leave me a message, and I’ll get back to you. If you prefer to shoot me an email instead, do so here. And thanks for leaving me a somewhat nice email. I appreciate nice emails. I do.
What else can I say? Not much really. I love writing, and I’m rather opinionated on things. I like thinking that I’m doing a good job if I’ve helped someone take a second look at something, or something I’ve said has given someone pause to think, consider, or act. I love all sorts of music, and photography, and talking with people. I don’t do crowds or lots of loud noises though. I enjoy my peace and quiet and tranquility. I’m lucky like that.
Just for the record, this is MY blog. It’s my opinion, just that. At one time, I was paid to be an impartial writer, but because this is my blog, I can be as partial as I wanna be. I can even put “wanna” here and know that wherever my journalism professor may be, he’s lecturing me on my lack of proper grammar. So with all that in mind, I’d love to hear your opinion. I only ask that you leave out profanity, threats of bodily harm, and stuff like that out of it. I adore great discussion, and if there’s something you can add or contribute, let’s hear from you. Thanks for taking the time to read and inquire.
