I love Asahel Curtis. But here's my main gripe of my trip. I caught the Fauntleroy-Southworth boat and there was no Kitsap Transit bus running during the day. I can understand why, sure. It's hard to keep a budget going for said route during the day especially in these hard times. But a dedicated bus that takes you from Southworth to downtown Port Orchard during the day would be really helpful. Especially during summer months when we have these things called “tourists” ride the ferry like I did. I hear those people like to spend money *gasp*.
Here I am in downtown Bremerton in the summer breeze. Downtown Bremerton has become a fun destination with cool restaurants and shops. Now please go back to previous paragraph. What if you're one of those strange visitors who want to take the super long route to get to Bremerton? Hey, forget about that Colman Dock ferry connection that goes into Bremerton. some of us grew up in Port Orchard and want to see our parental units now and again. /end rant
Here is a pretty fountain I encountered while walking back to the foot ferry. This photo doesn't do the fountain justice especially with the sunlight making the water sparkle. Your thought of the day…Bremerton sure has a lot of water fountains around…wonder what sort of cost that is to run all of them and who pays for that?
I had a super good time playing a visitor back to home yesterday. Note to self: must do that again sometime soonish.
